<p><strong>Paying Dubai Recruiters / Employers:</strong> When applying for jobs in Dubai, you may encounter Dubai recruiters or employers who ask for processing fees for jobs in Dubai. Under UAE law the employer is responsible for visa costs and the recruitment agency should not ask applicants for fees.  Beware those that ask fees as it could be a scam.</p>
<p><strong>Language:</strong> The the offical language of Dubai is Arabic but English is used as the standard language between the many different nationalities working in jobs in Dubai.</p>
<p class="body s1"><strong>Employment Visa / Permit:</strong>  Foreign nationals require a visa which is issued by the Immigration Department after  approval from Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.  The employment permit/visa allows the holder to enter the UAE one time for a period of thirty days and is valid for a period of upto two months.  After entering the UAE with an employment visa the sponsors company should complete the formalities of getting the employees residence stamp.</p>
<p class="body s1"><strong>Dubai Working Hours and Days:</strong> Jobs in Dubai are between five to six days a week. 5 days, 5 and a half, or 6 days per week.  The standard working week is from Sunday to Thursday with Friday and Saturday as the weekend.</p>
<p class="body s1"><strong>Dubai Tax:</strong> You do not have to pay tax in Dubai.  The UAE plans to introduce VAT value added tax / Sales Tax in the future but no date has been set.  As Dubai&#8217;s oil drys up Dubai may start charging income/salary tax.</p>
<p class="body s1"><strong>Dubai Holidays:</strong> The standard for jobs in Dubai is four weeks paid holiday per year excluding Dubai public holidays.</p>
<p class="body s1"><strong>Companines Keeping Passport:</strong>  Employers in Dubai need your passport so they can get it stamped with your residency visa.  Some companies try to keep your passport so you don&#8217;t leave their employment or Dubai.  Your employee has no right to keep your passport.</p>
